GovFacts publishes several kinds of pages. Each follows the same standards for sourcing and fairness.

Explainer. How a program, law, agency or process works: who qualifies, what the rules are, what the steps are. Explainers state facts and show their sources. They do not argue for anything.

Analysis. A closer look at a question or a recent development, such as what a policy does or what the evidence shows about it. An analysis draws on data and research, attributes conclusions to their sources, and says where experts disagree.

Debate summary. The main arguments on each side of a contested issue, each in its strongest form and with its sources. A debate summary says what the evidence establishes on the facts. It does not say which policy is right.

Tool. An interactive calculator, lookup or checker built on official rules and figures. Each tool shows its sources and the date its figures were last checked.
